Help me give my students a way to be more present in class. By providing my students with charging stations for their phones, they will readily put them away and in turn, be more engaged in the classroom.

My Project

Having a cell phone in front of a student is distracting. It distracts the student who needs to learn, and the teacher trying to teach. In the past couple of years, students have used their phones and electronic devices more than ever before. In my classes, students will often ask for a charger so their phones don't shut off. This cell phone charging station would solve two problems at the same time. It would allow students to recharge their cell phones during class and it will help keep the phones away from their desks so they can have a respite from social media and be more present during class. By taking a break from their phones, students can engage more fully with their classmates, the curriculum, and themselves.
