Recess Supplies for All!

My Students

These materials are for a wonderful group of fourth-graders who are excited about learning! They started the year off at home, distance learning but are finally back in person! My favorite part of teaching is helping my students develop a love for learning! Our school is amazing, and it is a very warm and inviting place. We have a wonderful community of teachers, parents, and students working hard every day to help everyone succeed.

My school has a very diverse population of students and families.

We are located in what some call a bedroom community because parents work farther from home. Some of our students are low-income, English Language Learners, come from single-parent homes, or are living with other guardians. It can be challenging to meet the needs of the varying abilities and backgrounds of the students, but it is something I enjoy doing. I am looking to instill a love for learning in my students.

My Project

This March, we were allowed to go back to in-person learning! One aspect of this is that students are spread out on our playground in three different areas. They are not allowed to have any equipment because of safety reasons. The students love getting fresh air but are becoming bored with no equipment. The school is in the process of getting some items such as hula hoops but these will be in certain areas and only for a few students. This project will give each of my students their own bucket with items to play with at recess.

Play is serious and by providing my students with these items, play will become so much more fun!
