My Students
Do you remember the joy of recess? A time where you could laugh, play, relax, and let off a little steam?
I teach a class of extraordinary, bright, and delightful kindergarten and first grade children.
We live in Florida and are lucky enough to have outdoor recess all year long. My children work hard, and they also like to play hard. Our recess area has some climbing equipment and sandy areas. We also have a basketball court, but no balls to use! What we are really missing, is recess toys, games, and activities.
My Project
I am asking for a full Active Play Kit which includes playground balls, jumpropes, color cones, game hoops and bean bags. I am also asking for a large wheeled cart to hold them all in!
You have no idea how much your donation would mean to my students. This kit would allow me to create exciting games and obstacle courses. Active Play is so important for a child's gross motor development, as well providing a much needed break from classroom academics. These children need and deserve exercise that fosters team playing and cooperation. They need challenges to help them grow and develop confidence. Right now they think of recess as boring and they are right- is it completely unstimulating.
Please help me turn recess into what it should be: fun, challenging, exciting, and great exercise for the body and the mind.
