Recess Reimagined: Giant Games and Active Fun for Every Student!

Help me give my students Giant Strategy and Team Games to encourage collaboration and critical thinking, Carnival and Party Games to enhance fine and gross motor skills, and Educational and Nature Games to increase learning outdoors.

My Project

Imagine a recess where students are laughing, running, strategizing, and working together, all while learning through play. With your support, I’m bringing a dynamic collection of giant games, active play equipment, and creative outdoor activities to my students that will transform recess into an exciting, inclusive, and enriching experience.

My students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds, and many do not have access to safe, engaging play spaces or recreational equipment outside of school.

Recess is often their only opportunity during the day to move freely, build friendships, and experience the joy of play. This project will help ensure that every child has access to high-quality, meaningful play experiences, regardless of their circumstances.

This collection features a diverse range of outdoor games, from giant board games like Candy Land and Clue to physical activities such as hula hoops, jump ropes, and pickleball. These tools will help students build teamwork, coordination, problem-solving, and social-emotional skills in a fun and supportive environment.

Recess is more than just a break—it’s a vital time for students to recharge, socialize, and develop essential life skills. For students from underserved communities, it’s also a powerful equalizer, an opportunity to experience joy, creativity, and connection in a safe and structured environment. By enriching recess with meaningful play, we’re helping students return to the classroom more focused, confident, and ready to learn.
