Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

We know that recess is an essential part of the day for all students, and especially for the youngest children. Unfortunately, my school does not have a playground. These supplies will give four classes of PreK students several options to play with, in the field, during recess. A balance beam and a hopscotch mat will allow children to be active and play together. Bubble solution and batteries will allow us to run our bubble machine, which is always a student favorite activity.

Recess gives students a break during the day and an unstructured time where they can play, imagine, interact, explore, and exercise.

Having recess time increases focus in the classroom, reduces stress, increases physical activity, allows for social interaction, and so much more. I hope to give my students new recess toys, so they can get the most out of their recess time.
