Recess Is FUN-Damental Part 2

My Students

Why sit at a desk, when you can be learning all over the room? I believe that movement, peer interaction, and hands-on activities are essential for student success and I make sure to incorporate them every day. I teach at a public, Title I school in a neighborhood school in the Midwest. My students love to learn through doing and are always eager to try something new!

My students are toad-ally frog-tastic!

My students love STEM, social studies, and reading nonfiction books. Recently we've been learning about animal habitats and adaptations.

My Project

I believe that active play is essential for little learners. Young children need the opportunity to use fine and gross motor skills, and learn through play daily. This is why recess is such an important part of each day. Our kindergarteners are in need of outdoor recess supplies and an equipment cart to hold the supplies.

Recess is full of learning and fun!

This is the second part of my goal of getting supplies for our kindergarten's indoor and outdoor recess time. I am requesting an assortment of materials and resources that will be perfect for little learners. The easy grip balls are covered in fabric and are made of rings which make them very easy for students to hold, grip, and throw. I am also requesting an indoor/outdoor kid-size recess supplies cart. This cart is sturdy and on wheels, which is perfect to bring it with us out to recess and for storing our supplies inside when not in use. It is also a great height for little ones to be able to get the supplies they want to use. As for the organization of supplies, the cart has two built-in shelves with separate containers which make it easy to keep like items together.

I am trying to completely update our kindergarten recess supplies, and with your help, our dream of recess fun will come true!
