My Project
At our school, we serve 511 energetic students from PreK through 5th grade and are passionate about keeping them active, engaged, and healthy. However, our current recess equipment is limited, outdated, and worn out, and it’s not meeting the needs of our diverse student population. The students in our low-income district deserve an exciting and safe recess experience that promotes physical fitness and social skills.
That’s why we request support for new recess equipment, including soccer balls, jump ropes, hula hoops, basketballs, playground cones, and outdoor games.
This equipment will provide various activities for students of all skill levels and interests. With your help, we can make recess the highlight of the day for every child, ensuring they have opportunities to run, play, and grow stronger together!
Our students are inquisitive, creative, and full of energy! As an elementary school serving a high-need, low-income community, over 90% of our students receive free or reduced-price lunch. Despite the challenges they face, they show up every day eager to learn and play. Recess is a vital time for them to release energy, interact with friends, and build physical and emotional resilience.
Unfortunately, many of our students do not have access to safe spaces or equipment for play outside of school. That's why recess is not just a break from classwork—it's a critical time for developing lifelong fitness habits and social skills.
With your help, we can transform recess into a time of joy, fitness, and growth for our students. This project will impact all 511 students at our school, offering them the opportunity to engage in structured and free-play activities that foster teamwork, resilience, and a love of movement.
