My diverse group of high school students is AMAZING! There are over 30 languages spoken at my school: Samoan, Nuer, Arabic, Hmong, Dinka, Pidgin, Thai, Yupik, Mien, French, Wolof, Spanish, and more. As you can see, my school serves students who are English as a Second Language Learners as well as students with disabilities and gifted learners. They come from all walks of life. Some are living the dream in the nicest neighborhoods in Alaska while others are sofa surfing or living in shelters.

My Project
Every year books in a series will get lost or damaged creating a roadblock for readers who want to find out what happens to their favorite characters.
When students get caught up in a storyline, they read and they read and they READ!
My students are mad for Manga! The books fly off the shelves. Unfortunately, several books went missing when our schools were shut down for almost a year due to COVID-19.
The goal of this project is to replace the books missing from our Manga collection as well as other book series. That way my students can experience the excitement of getting hooked on a story that they want to follow to the very end.
