This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a new teacher who wants to help build my students stamina and spirits. 3rd grade is a magical age. Students are eager to learn and unconditionally love you. They are open to new experiences and love to express them through music, art, curiosity and literature. They are treasures!
My Project
Keeping my students engaged and curious is the goal of every teacher. After a year of students being outside of the classroom, it has been a challenge to keep them engaged. I am working to help build their endurance and attention span. A reward system incentivizes students.
Hattie says that PBIS (Positive Behavioral Supports) have a .68, which is within the "Zone of Desired Effects." One thing that encourages students within a PBIS system is interesting and engaging tangible rewards.
I would like to provide my students with a toy vending machine for students to earn reward from.
