Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school community is in an impoverished urban area and is comprised of over 1100 middle school students who come from many different backgrounds and countries.

Our student population is very diverse with many languages represented.

We have two locations and one of the locations has a newcomer program which needs more books in their native languages.

My Project

We need graphic novels and books in other languages that our students want to read to meet their personal reading interests. We have two library sites and one of them has a newcomer program and we do not have enough books in their native language that they want to read. We have to get books to these students that they like to read.

All of our students are passionate about reading graphic novels, but we especially need books for our students that read in other languages.

Our students need access to the books they want to read to meet their personal reading interests. I have selected books that our students want to read!
