My Project
Devoted to exposing today’s youth to the arts through theatre and creative expression, the goal is to get lighting and other technical equipment for the classroom space. (Lighting, Portable DMX Board, Speakers, mics, etc.)
The vision is to transform the classroom into a fully operational Black Box theatre.
All items requested will be used for this specific endeavor. This effort is geared totally to immerse students into the culture of theater, in which students would get the full experience of what, why and how the theater operates. Students will learn all aspects of technical theater: using the lighting board to operate lights, learn how to become sound technicians, etc.) Drapes would be used to drape the room; dimmer packs are used to prevent outlet overload when connecting cables and lighting equipment.
Not only would the students benefit but the community as a whole as well. This space would be utilized as a meeting/event space in which local churches, alumni, and community leaders could rent for various events, which could also be a fundraising mechanism to build revenue for the fine arts department.
