My school is a Title I school. This means that most students come from low income families. Even with the limitations that come with this, they are enthusiastic about learning and discovering new things.
The students I work with have amazing ideas and want to be able to change the world!
They are creative and adventurous and do not see limitations as a setback. They are learning to be resilient and confident. This is a lifelong lesson, and I want them to learn now and hold on to the idea that the world holds many opportunities for them to grow, make mistakes, and create wonderful things.
My Project
This project will help make our STEM Night exciting as well as be used to bring abstract ideas to life! Students are creative and have unlimited imagination, but sometimes it is hard to use that as a tool to learn and understand real things around them. Another tool that will help them utilize the scientific process is the radar gun. Not only will it help them understand velocity, but they will make predications, test them out, and experience what it means to adjust your findings based on data.
Virtual reality is a way for students to understand and experience things that they may never have thought possible.
From space exploration to the bottom of the ocean, the possibilities and real life adventures in the classroom are endless. Please help make virtual reality a true reality to my students!
