My Students

My students are an amazing group of kids. They are enthusiastic about school and embrace everything we do in class. They love reading, P.E., math, and science. Our school is a kindergarten through eighth grade school located in rural California. It houses 450 students. Our school is surrounded by forests and mountains and has daily visitors such as geese, turkeys, and deer.

Our school has a strong academic and athletic culture.

I want to maintain our strength in these areas by continuing to provide materials to enrich my students' experiences.

My Project

My students need 30 copies of Ramona Quimby, Age 8 and Judy Moody Saves the Earth, plus the audio version of each book.

Our reading series takes a chapter from each of these two books and students do an in-depth study on the chapter.

My students have enjoyed reading about these two characters that I thought I would order a class set of each book so we can read the whole story.

In addition to the books, I have order the audio version of the stories. Students will listen to a good reader read. This will help increase comprehension and fluency.

In the story Judy Moody Saves the Earth, the character finds way to keep our planet healthy. We will read the entire story and will do extension activities that will focus on earth science. We will plant our garden, find other ways to reduce, reuse and recycle and do a research report on environmentally sound practices.
