My Project

Realistic fiction can be a powerful tool for 7th graders as they navigate complex social and emotional landscapes. By encountering characters and situations that mirror their own lives, students can develop empathy and gain a deeper understanding of different perspectives. These stories can provide a safe space to explore challenging topics like friendship, identity, and family dynamics, fostering valuable discussions and self-reflection. Furthermore, relatable narratives can boost engagement and make reading more enjoyable, potentially leading to increased literacy skills and a lifelong love of reading.

Seeing themselves and their experiences reflected in literature can also validate their feelings and build a stronger sense of belonging.

Ultimately, realistic fiction helps students make connections between the world of the book and their own lives, enriching their understanding of themselves and others
