This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My second graders are curious, creative, and talented. They crave interesting and engaging lessons, and they love learning about the real world. This past school year, we had access to Scholastic News and Science Spin, and my students really enjoyed learning content in this way. Sadly, because our school has limited funding and we had to prioritize other resources, we will no longer be provided with Scholastic News or Science Spin.
By donating to this project, you will not only help to improve and increase student access to engaging, standards-based content, you will ultimately help to increase student academic achievement.
With access to Scholastic News and Science Spin, my students will be able to learn science and social studies content in a much more engaging way, with vivid images and real-world stories that bring content to life! We will use these resources to aide us in learning about our world with lively, age-appropriate materials. Students will build essential knowledge, strengthen important skills with fun activities, and be captivated with colorful photos and infographics.
I know that these resources will provide enriching learning experiences for my students and they will help my students be even more engaged learners.
