My Students
I have the privilege of working at a low-income high school servicing students with disabilities. My continued goal is to get up-to-date resources that will engage students while teaching them about real world experiences.
In past experience, Scholastic Action magazine has been an excellent resource for my students.
They love to flip through the magazine, and the articles are written at a reading level that is appropriate for my students.
Any help finding this endeavor would be greatly appreciated!
My Project
My classroom encompasses students with a variety of reading levels and abilities. A subscription to this magazine will allow us to read aloud age-appropriate material that informs them of what is going on in their world. It is important that my students have access to information that expresses what is happening in the world around them. We will read articles as a class and be able to develop valuable reading skills with appropriate material. Having hard copies of these magazines is best for my students to be able to underline, highlight, and use their fingers to follow along with the reading. We are excited to get these in our the hands of our students!
