Help me give my students hands-on, engaging math materials to continuing their growth!
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Rogers's classroom raised $529

My Students
Students walk into my classroom full of energy and ready to learn. Many of my students have challenges that stand in the way, making learning harder for them. I teach special education students from pre-kindergarten to 5th grade. My school is in an urban area with about 70% receiving free/reduced-price lunch. Since I teach special education, I need hands-on, engaging ways to teach my students the curriculum. My students come into my classroom for help, sometimes feeling hopeful but other times feeling like failures. Each student has different academic needs, as well as different emotional needs.
My Project
Many special education students need to explore math to help deeper their understanding. The math games will create a fun, exiting way to engage my students. The Scholastic math magazines will allow students to see how math affects their daily lives in many different ways.
Having math materials that relate to real world and being hands on will help make my students more successful.
I have seen how using games or engaging activities has impacted my student's learning. Our classroom now needs more challenging games to help us continue to grow in math.
