My Students
My students struggle with some of the most basic aspects of life such as getting to school safely. What my students witness on a daily basis deserves an organized literacy and media focused call-to-action, but only one prompted by youth. There are no excuses! My students live by their words and character. In my class, there is no choice, but yet only one option. Win! Take advantage of all the harsh realities and turn them into a triumph. Students have a lot to express and it is my job to give them the ball to not only run with, but to slam dunk on the world! Self-control and self-expression isn't even about self. It's about taking responsibility to care enough to share a positive message to inspire and motivate others for generations to come. What type of students do I have? The type that are faced with a sink or swim reality. The type that are tired of being little fish in a big pond. The type that are ready to get brand clarity.
My Project
With a rise in crime and an aura of defeat, students are beginning to feel apathetic towards their environment. My students have a knack for talent and lead innovative projects in ways that the world would never understand. As I reflect on this fact, I stand to give my students a platform to establish their own voice. I stand to give my young overlooked geniuses a chance to rise above and go further to cast a shadow over cynical trends that neglect to hear or acknowledge the opinions of young people. In a society prone to a series of negative ideologies, I stand to demonstrate with my students, how to create a brand wagon effect that promotes a desire for adults to learn more from kids.
Students are excited about managing and shaping their community culture by launching a school newspaper and releasing a collection of books while distributing original works on Barnes and Noble and Amazon.
The laptop will be for publishing managers to transcribe interviews and edit manuscripts on the go. The voice recorder is for budding investigative journalists, and the camera is necessary to document the sequence of events leading to student success.
