My Students
I am very excited to provide special education instructional support for students with a range of learning disabilities. These student have diverse abilities in reading and math. They are enthusiastic about learning. They love exploring and sharing their ideas.
Our class mantra is "Show me what you know." The students in my classroom are creative.
They love to be read to and to read. We are working on different levels and they often need to be challenged. I want to build a library which will meet their diverse needs.
My Project
The students in my classroom benefit from additional support. Many of the student are visual learners and struggle with reading. They struggle with selecting reading materials when they have trouble finding the titles. I have implemented dyad reading strategies which has supported and increase students' reading progress. This requires students to read books on different lexile levels. It would help to have a bookshelf which displays the books for students to easily access these books. Dyad reading will help my students increase their skills.
When a student's reading skills increase they become more engaged and excited to share their learning.
It is exciting when students share their enthusaism to explore the world around them though reading books they enjoy.
