This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are from a tough neighborhood.

They are the kind of students that persevere through unimaginable situations in life, and rise above it to make better for themselves.

At our school, students are dedicated to moving onto the next steps in their lives and work together to keep relationships loyal as well as consistent. Through hard work and devotion, we all overcome the harsh environment that is urban city life.

A typical day in our classroom starts with students setting up their own musical stations, turning on amps and instruments to start our rehearsals. Then we put our all into what we create!

My Project

The NVII DJ Controller will help our students understand how to use DJ equipment effectively, and at the same time will prepare them for real turntables. This will cut down on damages and help expedite the teaching process. The students will benefit immensely from new technology and it will open doors for future opportunities, whether it be monetary or educational. This will also help expand our program and help us move on to more relevant music for our student body. The many types of music that are accessible are limitless and this will ensure our students will be engaged and focused on the future of music!
