My Project

Our students have Loved their outdoor learning experiences. Being outside sparks their curiosity and makes learning feel more real and engaging. This project is focused on enhancing those outdoor learning experiences by boosting our reading and writing materials to represent topics relevant to them like bugs, birds, and trees that are native to our area. By blending science with English Language Arts (ELA), we aim to provide a more integrated and meaningful learning experience.

When students see themselves and their surroundings reflected in what they learn, their engagement and understanding deepen significantly.

To better prepare them for meeting academic standards, I've compiled a list of books and supplies that will keep their learning both relevant and captivating, while also bringing in non-fiction texts that they are less familiar with in elementary. Our students are exceptional; they thrive on collaboration and uplift one another. When we delve into topics that resonate with their personal experiences, their excitement is palpable—they eagerly share connections, deepening our collective understanding as a class. This project is tapping into those unique traits to keep their learning meaningful.

The materials selected for this project, including Teachers Pay Teachers (TPT) modification resources, chart paper, vibrant sticky notes for data collection, and various reading and recording supplies, will facilitate the creation of engaging lessons. These tools will not only enrich our curriculum but also foster an environment where students feel connected, inspired, and eager to learn.
