My Students
So excited about the upcoming school year. I teach kindergarten at a Title I school in Panama City Florida. Our school was devastated by Hurricane Michael. We are slowly replacing materials that were destroyed by wind, rain, and mold. I lost everything in my classroom from my class library to bulletin board materials. My hope is to have a fun, engaging classroom when my students return by exposing them to exciting books! My students and their families have been through SO much!!
My Project
A listening station will allow my students to be exposed to a wide variety of read alouds. Research shows a dramatic increase in a student’s vocabulary and fluency skills when doing read to aloud. The center will also allow my students to work independently in a station.
Students will have a wide variety of books which will allow students to pick books with their interest in mind.
A listening station will assist students to reach learning outcomes in all academic areas. Books will cover a wide variety of topics. Health and wellness, social and emotional topics, math and just plain fun books!
