My Students
Help us practice using reference materials like dictionaries, maps and globes! We can't wait to map out our ancestors' voyage to America and use our brand new dictionaries! Thank you for contributing to our dynamic classroom!
Our class is wonderfully diverse.
We come from many ethnic backgrounds, vary in socioeconomic status, and are truly a cross-section of the people of California. Our neighborhood families value education and have a serious commitment to helping provide a rich and engaging public school setting.
My Project
The students will benefit tremendously from the grade level appropriate dictionaries. They are made especially for the primary grades- with larger words and better handling features. In addition, the colorful maps and globe are great visuals for the children to get a better sense of their world. The maps are made of dry erase surfaces for writing. This feature will enable the students to chart their ancestors' trip to the US.
The materials I selected will help my students gain valuable skills.
Students will be able to use dictionaries regularly to gain vocabulary and improve writing. In addition, the maps and globe will help students see distances traveled by their ancestors in a special heritage project. More importantly, the students will gain a sense of our interconnectedness.
