My Students

As a teacher in a low-income school district, I see that my students are faced with many challenges both in and out of the classroom. We spend a big part of the day together, and one of my goals is to always provide them with authentic, meaningful experiences on a daily basis.

My students are inquisitive, curious and very eager to learn.

They love to learn about new things and especially love hands-on activities. Many of my students are being raised in single-parent households and receive a free lunch based on their socioeconomic status. Unfortunately, some of these things may prevent them from acquiring the life experiences many of us see as "typical.” From the minute they walk into my classroom, my job is to not only teach them but to make their day a memorable one. I want them to leave my class on a daily basis thinking learning is fun!

My Project

The last several months have taken a toll on everyone, especially our youngsters! During these unprecedented times, I do not believe that our students’ families should have to purchase school supplies for their children.

I want to support all my students’ and their families as best as I can.

By having this project funded, it would alleviate the need to request materials for my classroom from my students’ families who may be struggling during this difficult time. These supplies are essential to ensuring that our school year starts off on the right foot. Being ready to learn is crucial and will help my wonderful students succeed during the school year.
