Ready to Learn through Sensory Foundation

Help me give my students resources for sensory experiences to help them regulate and better able to access the education.

My Project

Many of my students experience sensory processing difficulties in the general education classroom. The sensory items requested will be used to assist my students with regulation to improve their readiness to learn.

My ultimate goal is for all students to become independent with identifying their regulation needs and identifying which sensory tools will help them with their educational goals.

Initially, the educators will provide education and instruction in the tool use and scaffold the intervention to allow for increased independence by the students.

My students are unique in that they are intelligent students that have a barrier to performance due to sensory processing needs. They are special because they, like their peers, want to fit in, have friends, and do well in school, but sometimes their needs are out of their control. I hope this project will make them feel empowered and more independent.
