Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

To create a dynamic and engaging learning environment for my students, I have selected materials that support hands-on exploration, classroom management, and student well-being. The Rainbow Smiley Area Rug creates a defined gathering space for group learning and helps with classroom routines. The science kits from Lakeshore and Educational Insights (Can Do! Kits, Science Station - Magnets, Solar System Viewer, Look & Discover Kit, Sprout & Grow Window) align with my STEM goals by encouraging exploration and observation. Tools like the write and wipe pockets, magnetic ten-frames, and Find the Letter Activity Center offer reusable, interactive ways to practice math and literacy skills.

I also included dramatic play sets like the doctor’s office and build-a-truck vehicles to support social-emotional and imaginative play.

Art and fine motor skills are strengthened through materials like Play-Doh, fuse beads, dot markers, and permanent markers. For behavior and emotional learning, I included the feelings charts, emotion posters, and sensory items such as fidget toys, squishy sets, and sensory mats to create calm-down spaces and support self-regulation. Decorations like the bulletin board sets, birthday crowns, and welcome banners build a warm, inclusive classroom atmosphere. Each item supports my goal of building a classroom where learning is hands-on, inclusive, and joyful.
