Help me give my students an individual book bin for them to store their favorite books and a cheerful colorful rug for them to immerse into the magic of reading.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
This year I will be teaching kindergarten in a Title I school. The school serves children of many different backgrounds. Many of the upcoming students are English language learners. I have had the opportunity to meet some of upcoming students; which makes me really excited!
A classroom library plays an important role in providing students with opportunities to enrich vocabulary and language.
Students come to school to learn, grow, and discover their abilities. A classroom library is fundamental to help children develop a love for reading and books. The addition of a classroom library will provide the opportunity for students to increase vocabulary, language, reading comprehension, and build a community of learners.
My Project
The system of having a book bin for the individual student will help meet the students individual literacy needs. The students will have quick access to their literacy/book bins. The library rug will provide structure, organization, and a place for students to enjoy reading.
By contributing to this project, you will make it possible for students to have access to a classroom library which will have individual bins that will meet each students literacy needs.
In addition, providing an organize library will help students become accountable for their learning. Also, it will serve for a place to complete other tasks during the day.
