Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In my classroom I have 25 students. All but two of my students are English language learners. Finding resources to support my students in their journey to language acquisition is key to ensuring that all students are successful. I believe that these reading journals will help support my students in their English reading comprehension by providing them with opportunities to practices reading strategies and standards daily. I want to expose my students to a variety of text in order to help them be at grade level in their reading.
Moving forward, I will be using these journals daily to help reinforce best practices such as decoding and annotating to help students understand what they are reading.
My students greatly need support with their reading and I want to be able to provide them with opportunities to learn about new topics while incorporating strategies that will help them understand what they are reading.
