My Students
I have the privilege of teaching fifth grade special education students. Every student faces unique challenges in their academic journey, including learning disabilities, sensory issues, trauma, and behavior struggles.
Each day with my students is a unique experience, filled with lots of learning opportunities, as well as many challenges.
My goal is to meet each student where they are and help them to grow from there.
My Project
My special education students already face extra struggles during regular academic years. Because of Covid-19 they face even more challenges and are even further behind in their reading abilities. Science says that students need explicit, hands-on instruction in literacy skills. The books and manipulatives I've requested will go a long way to ensure learning success for my students. Additionally, the mouses and headphones will help make technology more accessible for my students in the classroom. I'm always striving to make things better for my students, and the combination of the literacy manipulatives and technology equipment will help tremendously.
