Help me give my students a sound wall to help them learn to read.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Huff's classroom raised $290
This project is fully funded
My Students
My class of kindergarteners is a fun group, who are eager to learn! They attend school in a large district outside of Denver, Colorado. It is a Title I school, which means that there is a high percentage of students from low-income families. There are about 600 students in the kindergarten through 8th grade building, and over 85% of the elementary school children qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. Despite the struggles that many students face outside of the classroom, my students are excited to come to school and ready to learn!
My Project
The sound wall and other materials I am requesting will be used for teaching literacy in my kindergarten classroom. This kit will help me set up a sound wall right away and be ready for my incoming class.
A sound wall is a place where phonemes are displayed and words are organized based on their sounds.
It gives students a place in the classroom to refer to as new sounds and words are introduced. The sound wall will replace the traditional word wall in my classroom. Most of the materials will be displayed on the wall while the sound wall folders and alphabet strips will be used for individual students. Thank you so much for considering a donation to my classroom!
