My Students
My students represent the best of the best we could hope for our future. They are bright, creative, confident and compassionate. They come from families rich in culture and strong in values, creating an environment of love both in my school building and in their local community. Every day at school is a day where we all come together to grow and develop as better humans together.
As their teacher, I foster their strengths, support their needs, and prepare them for global citizenship.
I can identify their talents and abilities, but it is dramatically more powerful when they come to see their own strength on their own. In an effort to support this self-exploration and independence, I aim to create a learning environment that fosters strategic thinking and problem solving skills.
My Project
In our class, students love to hear stories read aloud. Hearing stories develops students' love of literature, and it helps deepen their language development. These books are some of the best, and I know my students will be reaching for them time and time again.
Read aloud time is one of my students' favorite times of the day because they get to hear their favorite stories come to life!
We read stories, ask questions, and talk about what we noticed. Often, the text applies directly to a lesson we're working on in another content area, so reading these stories supports holistic learning.
