This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach second grade at a small neighborhood school in Texas. My class will consist of a wide range of academic levels from special needs to GT. The majority of my students qualify to receive free or reduced price lunch. They are provided breakfast every day with the help from a federal program. Most of my students come from households with only one income where they struggle to make ends meet. Or they are homeless and multiple families are living together in one house.

My students work hard and are eager to learn.

They deserve the best opportunities possible. With the help of DonorsChoose.org, I am hoping to provide my students with a caring environment.

My Project

Since last year, we have been forced to change the way we instruct. My district has provided every student with an iPad. We use various technology apps to assist our students with their instruction. It makes it hard for my students to focus on their assignments with all the other students iPads making noises at the same time as theirs.

We need reliable headphones that are made for students.

Student will use the headphones to focus on their on line work and activities. I have asked my parents to send headphones to school for their child. And I have already purchased a class sets of earbuds. Now, many of my students don't have a working set anymore. I want to be able to support the students who are unable to purchase a new set of headphones when theirs are no longer working.
