My Students

"Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn." - Benjamin Franklin.

A typical day in my classroom is very busy and productive.

Students love to learn and are eager to do hands-on activities in the classroom and the laboratory setting. "Opportunity is often missed because it is disguised as hard work."

My students are from a tight-knit, rural community who love to show their school spirit and attend many activities provided by our school. We have small classes, and students get along well with each other. Our school shows pride through the hallways and has good school spirit.

My Project

We are requesting materials to add a maker space corner to our classroom. This will include a 3D printing pen, cardboard, rotary mat, rotary cutter, and other small items that students can use in a hands-on project based learning approach to the classroom.

Our school encourages project-based learning framework, so providing students with materials will give them more opportunities to work with hands-on problem solving, which increases their employability upon graduation.

In an agriculture setting, I foresee this being used in our freshman unit, first with the book, "The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind," and the creation of windmills in class to follow up with sustainable energy. The ideas are limitless!
