I am the kindergarten reading lab teacher. We have 9 kindergarten classes. I see children out of all of the classes. Most of the students at our school come from low income homes. Some students even live with 2 or 3 other families.
I have carpet in my room that was put down years ago. There is masking tape down the middle because it is coming unraveled. A lot of the children have never been read to and I would like a rug for them to sit on and listen to stories or have shared reading time.
I need a rug for the children to set on to listen to me read to them so they can hear what reading sounds like. They could also use the rug for shared reading time.
You can make a difference in helping a child learn to enjoy reading and learn to read who otherwise may not have.
