My Project

My students attend a Title 1 school. We have limited resources for reading current events, sports news, and opinions and highlights from other students around the world. So many of my students love reading about sports, but do not have the resources to make that happen. Providing Sports Illustrated for Kids, my students will search me out to read the articles and learn about their favorite players and teams.

My students love to read and learn about current events that come into play centering around athletes and sports teams in the world.

Providing the reading resource, Sports Illustrated for Kids, students will engage in the reading and writing process based on the many uplifting and current event articles within the magazine. Reading something off grid but that students connect with make such a positive difference in improving students' reading abilities and building reading confidence.
