Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school is a low-income/high poverty school district. I teach a Physical Science class of seven ninth graders. All my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. All my students have specific learning disabilities. Despite the challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences. My students will learn better if they are provided with opportunities to do hands on activities and presenting the curriculum through explorations.
My Project
The Mini drone kits will provide the students with all the necessary parts to build a functioning mini drone. These mini drone kits will provide a creative and unique way to expose students to STEM curriculum. The use of the mini drone kits in the classroom will encourage students to develop skills in the core disciplines of science, technology, engineering, and math. With the mini drone kits, students will construct a drone and design an experiment to study the drone's motion. Students will also change or alter the drone’s design and investigate the effects of that alteration on the drone’s performance.
