Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students love learning! Whether it be Math, Science, Reading, and/or Art, they are all in! Some are loving the virtual situation and others, not so much.
My students are all doing the best they can and they have realized that distance learning is not easy, but they have accepted the challenge.
They know that they have to stay organized and distraction-free during our lessons. They know there is a schedule we must stick to. Most of all, they know school is not just for learning content, it is where they will learn to be responsible, empathetic, and empowered.
My Project
My students have been out of the classroom for almost a year and have missed out on hands-on learning opportunities. They heard about the dissecting activity 5th graders experienced last year and thought they would not have the same opportunity. I don't plan to let that happen.
The dissection kits will allow students to collaborate as they learn about lab safety and life science.
Together, they will make discoveries that will fill them with wonder. These types of hands-on activities are what leave lasting memories that inspire young minds.
