William Butler Yeats once wrote, "Education is not the filling of the pail, but the lighting of the fire." In my Engineering and Design Class, there are loads of fires being lit! That is exactly the way my students like to learn.
My students will be the first to tell you that you cannot learn science through worksheet packets.
They are a wildly inquisitive group who can sense an inauthentic learning experience a mile away!
They bound into the classroom with a chorus of, "What are we going to do today?" A new design challenge on the whiteboard makes their eyes light up. My goal as an educator is to continue to provide fuel for their educational fire!
My Project
Creativity overflows in this class. My students take great pride in designing their projects and draw elaborate, colored plans before they begin building. The Spectrum Noir Pen Sets will allow these plans to become even more vibrant.
I want to make sure my students are using the best tools for the job so that they are working in a safe environment.
Our Engineering and Design Class uses a great deal of cardboard creating their prototypes. The Canary Corrugated Cardboard Cutters and the VonHaus Electric Cardboard Cutter will make cutting the cardboard much safer.
The other products that I have selected are consumable materials my students use for all of their design projects. They fuse colored trash bags together to make phenomenal costumes, decorate rubber band cars with duck tape and they go through an enormous amount of fasteners building their wood working projects. Refilling these supplies will allow them to continue to create!
