This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I never saw myself as an actor. I really didn't. However, when you get the chance to stand in front of 30 bright-eyed students, you have to be. I sing, I dance and I have mastered the voices of many different cartoon animals. I understand the responsibility of a great first impression of the school. It warms my heart that such a simple gesture has become such an essential part of their school day.
I teach a bilingual classroom where all 30 of my students are English Language Learners.
My students love to read and are eager to solve problems every single day. The school I proudly work at serves a low-income population of primarily Hispanic students. Despite many hardships, my students always come in motivated and ready to learn!
My Project
Ready? Set. Build! I would like to give my students a set of classic LEGO bricks for interactive e-learning. Every week we will challenge students to be creative. They will recreate items they have seen before or create something completely new! I am so proud of all they have been able to accomplish now that we have switched to remote learning. We have all learned so much! LEGO will make lessons online more engaging.
We can use LEGO to create interactive lessons that involve designing, building, and modeling!
It is a great way to engage students and incorporate STEM activities into our remote learning classroom.
