Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a teacher to an amazing group of second grade students. I look forward to the warm good morning handshakes, smiles and greetings from each one as they walk into our classroom.
The school they attend is classified as a Title I school; therefore most of them are "at-risk students".
All of them qualify to participate in the free breakfast and lunch programs. The community in which they live in is stricken by a high level of poverty. This, however, does not affect their desire to please me, which in turn makes me love my job even more so. I can only hope to impact them on the importance of striving for success.
My Project
The purpose for all of the selected items will be utilized for my student's classroom work. The folders and spirals will be used to easily identify each subject by the specific color for that domain. The crayons, colored pencils and pencil boxes will be distributed to the students in order for them to have their own personal basic school supplies and/or necessities.
These supplies will afford my students with the essential materials to become successful and better prepared for their future educational requirements.
Lastly, the magnetic bins and storage boxes will help organize their teacher to be prepared to conduct lessons. My students will be able to focus on their academics at hand, and not whether or not they have the basic needed materials.
