Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am an early childhood special education teacher of active, adorable, exceptional 3-5 yr olds.

My students attend a Title I campus.

Socialization and language-based activities are what is modeled and provided in their classroom daily. My students have qualified as having a disability or suspicion of one. The early childhood activities provides interventions to help them develop in the areas of social, language, fine and gross motor skills and pre-academic skills, with possibilities of exiting the program by 6 years of age.

My Project

No germs! Safety first! No sharing! Each student will get individualized sensory bins to explore different textures and use their imaginations to mold their own creations and feel different textures. The colorful molding sand, water beads, and molding beads are items that will be fun to put in their bins and easy on their little hands. Students will be able to utilize their bins at school for individual use and students doing remote learning will get the pleasure of having their own sensory bin at home. My 3-5-year-old students learn from hands-on activities and they enjoy changing their sensory bins periodically to different textures. The sensory bins also help students with sensory difficulties to begin to explore different and fun materials.
