My students need various indoor PE resources, including jump ropes, balls, bean bags, activity mats, a tic-tac-toe toss, movement to music CDs, and a supply cart to store the equipment on.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. H.'s classroom raised $625
This project is fully funded
I am a first grade teacher at a high-need, low-income school in a predominantly Haitian community.
I am asking for PE equipment that can be used indoors by my students. They have no playground. The only place they have outside to play is a small concrete slab where they can fall and hurt themselves. We have to do our physical activity indoors, but we have no equipment to use. My students love to be active, but they're growing to dislike PE because they have to do the same activities every day because of limited resources. The state recently took 1.3 million dollars from the school district and will continue to take millions more in the next two years. Our school has no money for paper towels and toilet paper, much less for balls and jump ropes.
I am asking for indoor PE equipment, such as jump ropes, activity mats, balls, hula hoops, and a music collection that features songs with movement. I also need an equipment cart to store these things on. These resources will help my students learn basic motor skills and cooperation. They will also build the foundation for a love of physical activity.
Please help give my students a love for physical activity and the opportunity to play and be a kid.
