Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My second graders are resilient, hardworking individuals and enjoy activities and resources that make learning fun. They come from diverse challenged environments that consists of low economically disadvantaged environments, socially, and emotionally challenged, with special needs, homeless, and limited to access of resources outside the classroom. In addition to these obstacles, they also came with large learning gaps in literacy and math. This group has managed to persevere through many obstacles to making it a successful year as learners with the use of resources and activities purchased from Teachers Pay Teachers(TPT). My students continue to close gaps in becoming better readers and problem solvers.
I want to continue giving my students opportunities to learn from a variety of resources that are selected to be engaging, explicit and systematic from TPT with the purchase of gift cards.
Spanish materials, decodable readers, phonics lessons, Phonological awareness activities, literacy activities, math activities are some of the TPT valuable resources that are created by other teachers available for use.
The resources and activities I have previously obtained from TPT have facilitated my students learning to be fun, hands on, engaging and geared to meet their literacy and math gaps. I spend lots of time creating activities and resources to engage my students with their learning. With gift cards to TPT, I will be able to obtain additional resources that I was unable to get or make to implement and use with my students.
