This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in a Title I school that is located in a diverse, low socio-economic neighborhood in the Bay Area. I have 24 eager to learn kindergarten students this year. Kindergarten students are enthusiastic and excited to learn. My goal is to provide them with a safe environment that foster a love of learning and a wide variety of skills and knowledge.

Kindergarten students love to explore, discover, and be creative and we need the proper supplies and materials to keep them fully engaged in their learning.

I want my classroom to be equipped with all of the materials necessary for my students to have fun while learning and be successful in all that they do.

My Project

Our district announced some exciting news that we will be returning to campus and providing in person instruction. With that being said there are a lot of rules and safety precautions that will be in place.

I would like to provide each student with a filled pencil box, including linking disks for indoor brain breaks, to use for the rest of the school year and take home with them after the school year ends.

I typically try to reuse materials, such as scissors and pencil boxes, for multiple school years, but due to COVID and health and safety guidelines students should have brand new materials and keep them after use. Families are currently having a difficult time financially and our district is not in a financial place to provide classes with supplies. Thanks to donors like you, teachers like me can make it happen.
