This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a Math and Science Bilingual Teacher. I teach at an "at risk", low economic area in the Houston Independent School District. My students are a group of 2nd grade scholars who are highly motivated to learn, specially when they know they are cared about.

My students are English Language Learners in a Bilingual Transitional Program.

Their families are from different parts of Mexico and Central America and most of them are the first generation born and raise in The United States of America. My second grade students have gone thru a lot of different, and in most cases difficult, experiences that made me have the need to request all the help they can get to be successful in life.

My second graders need to expand their resources, specially for Math and Science while learning English, and these resources will help me to help them to further their knowledge. These resources will open a world full of learning, and give them rich experience using updated resources. They will really appreciate your support. I am looking forward to seeing them become great leaders and productive citizens of this country.

My Project

My students will be engage in daily interactive and live lessons; all without the worry of technical difficulties!

Having a new computer will give me the ability to teach my students virtually without the worry of my computer not working properly.

After experiencing many technical issues with my old laptop during our previous distance learning, I know I need a new laptop to help my students. The new laptop will allow me to make live virtual lessons, Virtual Field Trips, Power Points presentations, use available applications, TEAMS Meeting and be ready for a fun filled day of learning for my students.

It was a challenge when we started the virtual learning because of the COVID-19 pandemic, back in March and during the summer school. I want to make sure I am ready for my new group of second grade scholars.
