My Project
As we get ready for the summer, I want to set up the kids with things they can do at home and will keep them entertained and off technology for some time. The items that I am requesting will help me make my students a bag of learning tools to use while they are home. A lot of my students come from low-income families with a few children, and they don't always have supplies to use. Summer school is not for everyone and therefore my students end up staying home and playing on their electronics. My students are very emotional and needs emotional support. Not being able to come to school and see their friends and teachers can be a hard thing for them. I want to provide the students will a stuffed animal for them to remind them that there is always someone there for them even over the summer.
Keep the learning happening!
I want to supply my students with journals, pencils, pens, writing prompts and activities they can work on throughout the summer to keep their brains working and their eyes off the screen. In the summer bag I want to also provide them with activities that will require them to think and solve problems to help their critical thinking skills.
