My Students

As a teacher in a low income school district, I know that my students come to me from all walks of life. They are a very diverse group bursting with energy, excitement, and fun. The amazing thing is that all of their unique differences help them come together to build one fantastically unique classroom full of respect, love, collaboration, and friendship.

This year, I have been blessed with a wonderful group of kindergartners that are bubbling over with enthusiasm, determination, and perseverance.

They go into every activity with an open mind and a desire to do their best. As an AVID school, we really focus on having a growth mindset that helps us stay positive and to keep trying the things we haven't mastered yet. Because in our classroom we know that success happens through lots of hard work and lots of trial and error!

My Project

This kit would enable me to have over 28 in person and digital texts available to my students. These texts are designed to help students become stronger readers while also being fun and engaging for little learners.

I want my students to be excited about the new ways they will be learning from home.

Having both digital and physical texts allows for me to engage students from home and provide an easy transition back into the classroom by creating a sense of familiarity.

This year is going to be so new and different for my students and I want to be able to give them the best remote learning experience that I can.
