I have 22 Kindergarten students, 13 girls and 9 boys. My class is a mix of race and socioeconomic status. My children have a passion for learning and love coming to school. School is their safe haven where they are loved and respected.
I call my students, "my kids", because they have a big piece of my heart.
I wouldn't be the teacher I am today without them! They teach me and remind me of things that I may take for granted. Their smiles light up my classroom and the joy they have each day is so refreshing, especially in a world filled with so much hate and injustice.
My Project
My students need informational texts on their levels. They need to be able to read their nonfiction books and see the text features we talk about in our shared reading book. My students would love to be able to have more of a variety of topics to choose from. They will also be able to use these new books to do research as they become authors of their own nonfiction books!
The donations to this project will be so beneficial to my students not only because the books will be on their level but also because they will be able to read about a topic they are interested in.
