Reading Workshop Works Even in Kindergarten!

This project is fully funded
I am a kindergarten teacher and I teach at a Title I school. Title I means that over 50% of the students at my school receive free or reduced lunch. Many of the students that attend our kindergarten have never been to school before and have limited experience in their world.
My students love reading but because of their limited experience some of them have never handled books before. They love to be read to and love to look at books. The books that they need are board books and beginning books/emergent readers that they can feel successful reading.
The resources that I need are emergent reading books that are high interest and at their level. ABC, number, and concept books are the books that catch four and five year old students interests, books that kindergarten students can pick up and read on their own.
With your help, the students that have never set foot in a school can feel successful in reading! While putting books into students hands, you will help instill the love of learning in our next generation of learners!!
