Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

All of our students want to be self-sufficient and be engaged in the learning process. Students will be given the choice to utilize resources from Teachers Pay Teachers (TPT) to learn sight words and practice fluency. Additionally, students will have the choice to read books related to identity like "Bilal Cooks Daal" and "Katinga Finds the Perfect Name". I have noticed that when students are given the independence and choice to do activities on their own, they feel more capable to work independently and advocate for themselves.

My students are more focused and closer to reaching their learning goals when there are working on fun and engaging independent activities, and being given choice during independent work time.

The products I have selected will support students in creating an independent classroom where students have more access to different choices during centers or independent work time. They will become stronger readers overall and love to read!

I have seen how independence and choice has created a positive learning environment and more engagement overall, leading to stronger reading outcomes.
